The project “ Plays ” was created in 1997 by Belgian jazz pianist Xavier-Edouard Horemans.
Given the abundance of jazz bands with similar programmes and in search of a new formula, Xavier-Edouard Horemans started arranging the themes made famous by 's cartoons. Who doesn't know , his movies, his music, and the magic that comes out of them? was an immediate success with a large audience.
has already recorded for the Belgian radio and played in the best jazz clubs and several cultural centres. |

In 1999, the five musicians took part in the Brussels Jazz Marathon, performing against one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world – Brussels' “Grand'Place” – to a crowd of more than 5000, in addition to their gigs in many other Belgian towns.
Since then, has been invited to perform on some of the greatest stages and at major events. Concerts, jazz festivals, parties, and special events have followed on each others' heels as gives its swelling audiences a show that swings like the Jungle Book, is enchanting like Sleeping Beauty and magical like Cinderella; a lip-smacking cocktail of song and dance, tap and scat, and a dash of humour; a show that sparkles like a burst of fireworks!
Other highlights: Having attracted the Company's attention, was invited to play, with other groups, at the awards ceremony of the Ghent International Film Festival to commemorate the centennial of 's birth. Just recently the group was also engaged to play at Resort Paris for the launch of the Thalys night train to Brussels.

On another front, has been highly successful with its educational programme, « 100 years of jazz through the music of 's films », which has been lauded by the media and was selected for inclusion in Belgium's itinerant young people's music programme, Jeunesses Musicales. Thanks to this programme, which to date has been given close to 200 times in schools and on various stages, got its first contracts to perform abroad, namely, in Switzerland, in France, and on Mauritius Island. |
